OpenAI adds dynamic UI and faster streaming to GPT-6

ChatGPT is dropping the plain-text wall for interactive buttons, live charts, and mini-apps.
OpenAI rolled out GPT-6 to ChatGPT's 1.2 billion weekly users, introducing a feature called Intelligent UI. Instead of returning pure text, the model now builds custom visual components on the fly—like interactive diagrams, map routes, and working calculators. OpenAI built a library of native components and a custom compiler to stream these interfaces progressively while the answer generates.
Why it matters: Text isn't always the best format for an answer. By letting the model decide when to build a form, a chart, or a widget, ChatGPT moves closer to generating lightweight software on demand. The model also interleaves thinking with answering, starting web search responses 44% faster on average than GPT-5.6 Instant.
Know this: The model picks from a native UI design library during generation. OpenAI says it trained GPT-6 to decide when an interactive tool helps and when plain text is still the right move.
Your prompt box just became a custom app builder.
