Someone mapped all of San Francisco into a playable browser game

You can now run, drive, and glide across all of San Francisco right inside your web browser.

A web-based project maps the entire city into an interactive video game. The app streams map tiles on the fly, rendering streets and neighborhoods in a detail mode up to 470 meters out. The project quickly caught on, gathering 284 points and 102 comments on Hacker News.

Why it matters: Streaming an entire major city directly into a browser tab is an impressive technical flex. It gives anyone an instant, interactive playground of San Francisco without forcing you to download a massive game file.

Controls follow standard PC gaming inputs: use WASD to move, mouse to look, Shift to sprint, Space to jump, H for a glider, and V for a vehicle. You can also click cardinal directions on screen to instantly teleport around town.
