Meta open-sources code and blueprints for DIY AI gadgets

You can now build your own AI gadgets using Meta's code and a Raspberry Pi.
Meta open-sourced hardware blueprints and software for its Muse AI agent, according to The Verge. Developers can program off-the-shelf ESP32 boards or Raspberry Pis to hook Muse up to screens, sensors, and buttons. Suggested projects include a color E Ink reminder board, a smart HDMI stick, or a mini touchscreen assistant.
Why it matters: Here's the gist: Meta is handing hardware hackers the blueprints to put AI inside almost anything on their workbench. Instead of buying another locked-down smart display, you can build a custom device tailored to your actual home setup.
Meta warns builders to "Proceed at your own risk!" If you prefer pre-built hardware, Meta Superintelligence Labs manufactured 5,000 units of a "Muse Home Link" device that controls lights, TVs, and printers. You can join the waitlist now ahead of shipping this month.
Time to finally do something with that spare Raspberry Pi in your desk drawer.
