Google reveals Pixel 11 lineup with LED light rings and smaller batteries

Google’s newest phone hardware looks almost identical to last year's, but it comes with a glowing back-side LED ring.

Google revealed its 2026 hardware lineup today, introducing the Pixel 11 series, Pixel Watch 5, and its first Pixel Tag tracker, according to Ars Technica. The new phones start at $899 for the base Pixel 11 and reach $1,899 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The biggest hardware twist is "HiLight"—an RGB LED ring inside the camera flash on Pro models that lights up when you speak to Gemini or get phone calls from select contacts.

Why it matters: Google is leaning heavily into AI software updates while making minor adjustments to hardware. Oddly, battery capacities actually shrank slightly across all models—the Pro Fold dropped 200 mAh—though Google claims the new Tensor G6 chip will preserve its standard 24-hour battery life.

Know this: The camera bar on the base model is slightly smaller, display brightness on the Pro models jumps to 3,600 nits, and the temperature sensor from previous generations is gone. Pre-orders open today.
