Firefox is now the last major browser holding out for uBlock Origin

Firefox is officially the last major web browser standing for full-featured uBlock Origin.

Mozilla confirmed the stance in a Bluesky post, stating "our support for uBlock Origin isn’t going anywhere." The update comes as Microsoft Edge prepares to lock out Manifest V2 extensions. Edge runs on Chromium alongside Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, and Samsung Browser, following Google's push toward Manifest V3. Non-Chromium alternatives Safari and DuckDuckGo do not support uBlock Origin either.

Why it matters: Manifest V3 restricts the functions extensions need to identify and block web and video ads. Without Firefox, users who want uBlock Origin must settle for uBlock Origin Lite or rely on a browser's built-in tools.

Know this: uBlock Origin Lite works on Manifest V3 browsers, but it comes with fewer features and lower ad-blocking success than the original extension.
